(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - fall making an appearance

After what they are saying is the worst dry spell of the last 80 years in Portugal and when we are less than a month away from winter, fall has finally decided to make an appearance.

Mushroom and chorizo roll

This mushroom and chorizo roll is one of my favorite fall side dishes - though it works well as an appetizer or main dish too.

I have no problem if you want to add the same link in more than one week; it will still be eligible for a feature but please note that I will comment and add it to the Pinterest board only once. You can add posts on other subjects (family friendly please), but only craft related posts will have a chance to be featured and will be pinned to the party's Pinterest board.

If you host your own party, add it too - it may not be featured, but you'll be sharing it with all of us anyway, and everyone loves to discover new parties!

Instructions: Select all code above, copy it and paste it inside your blog post as HTML

There are no thumbnails in the party, so in the "name" field of the linky make sure you add an interesting title/description to your post. If you follow me via any social media (icons in the side bar) let me know in the comments and I'll make sure to follow you back!

By linking up you give me permission to use your photos in features or round-ups, and to share your posts on social media (always with a link back to you for proper credit).

DIY Simple Zippered Pouch Tutorial

Following up on last week's post about the purse organizers gift set, I'm sharing today the tutorial for the zippered pouch.

DIY Simple Zippered Pouch Tutorial

Adding zippers isn't the easiest thing in the world (at least not for me), especially when there's lining involved. So I've come up with a simple method to make it work.

Check out below the tutorial to make this lined zippered pouch.

DIY envelope purse organizer

So last weekend I created three purse organizers as a birthday gift for a friend (you can read about it here) and I promised I would post tutorials for each of the pieces. Here's the first one: the envelope shaped purse organizer.

DIY envelope purse organizer tutorial

Of the three, this is the easiest one to sew, so it's perfect for beginners. Bottom line, if you can't sew you can use fabric glue and get nearly the same result. Here's the how to:

Hello, and welcome. Today I'm going to show you a set of purse organizers I made for a friend's birthday. I know I'm already late for all the Christmas crafting, but this birthday came first and I had to rush to finish the gift last weekend.

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - tile work

I'm going to travel to Oporto again today and I suddenly remembered that I forgot to share some of the photos I took the last time I was there.

So here they are, showing the the amazing decorative tile work of the S. Bento train station.

This is the train station seen from the outside, an imposing but otherwise unremarkable building.

Simple Zucchini Quiche

Quiches are one of my favorite foods to cook when I need to prepare meals to take to the office. They are also helpful as a side dish at parties or even if you have friends over for dinner. There are zillions of food combinations you can put in quiche, but this zucchini quiche has got to be one of the easiest to make. And it looks really pretty too.

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - a perfect fall sunset?

In our little corner of the work the weather still didn't get the memo saying that we're past mid-fall. So this was the sunset we got last Sunday:

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - a perfect fall sunset

I'm not sure if it's a perfect fall sunset or a very late summer sunset, but I love the colors of the sky anyway.

Creamy mushroom soup

Soup is one of my favorites fall/winter comfort foods - it always makes me feel warm and cozy inside, not to mention it's healthy too.

This mushroom soup is something I can whip up really quickly to satisfy my soup cravings and the kids love it too, which is always a bonus when you have picky eaters at home..
